If I am not mistaken, it was just a couple of weeks ago or maybe 3 when I was in the UK and spotted Jay Manuel on QVC UK and that he had a line of make up.
I have always loved Jay and his work on ANTM and I was so annoyed with myself that I did not know he had a make up line.
I went onto QVC UK since they deliver to Switzerland and anything that could possibly match me (Medium #1 or Medium #2) were already sold out.
I went to his site directly in the US and guess what, there is no shipping to Europe. So I had to jump through hoops with my PO Box in Florida and ordered a few items.
I got the:
- SKIN PERFECTOR in MEDIUM #2
- POWDER TO CREAM FOUNDATION in MEDIUM #2
- PHOTO ILLUSION CONCEALERAIRBRUSH in MEDIUM
- SKIN FACE LIFT in V.I.P
I just got them in the mail a couple of days ago, I did not have a chance to test them all. So I decided to start this morning by giving a try to the Skin Perfector the one in the really original tube.
I saw a few YouTube video reviews and I always get so conflicted in the good and the bad ones cause we all react to cosmetics of any kind differently and I have been on the hunt for the best foundations for my skin for quite a time and a lot of them that so many rave about sit so funny on my skin.
I was debating if I use my Beauty Blender or my Artis Oval 8 to apply and I decided to use for the first try the Beauty Blender. (Need to clean it after publishing this post)
Just squeezed a little bit of the foundation onto the back of my hand and I was worried that Medium #2 might be too dark but once I applied a little on to my face and started blending it, I was shocked!
It was PERFECT!
The color match was right, almost as if it was made just for me and it blended like a dream. It melted into my skin flawlessly and can I say that my jaw dropped?
Just yesterday, I was wearing Born this Way by Too Faced and it did not sit right, it clung to my dry areas though I moisturize well and I had to actually apply a facial mist and use my artis to buff things up. I made it work, but then I should not have to.
But this was as close to perfection as I dreamt it, especially for a first application and impression after just one coffee.
Also, I did not feel the need to apply concealer. I will be honest with you guys, for the life of me I cannot make concealer sit right and the only one that feels nice is the one I mentioned not too long ago from Nude by Nature. I may be looking too close or my mind is so focused on it that I cannot see beyond the problem.
However, here it felt like it covered some of the darkness away and for that I am grateful.
I will leave my battle with concealer for another day.
So back to business, for a first time attempt and based on me just applying it, I was super impressed and I cannot wait to use it more. There is the other Powder to Cream Foundation that I also got and that will be for tomorrow to give it a first time try.
For my “I am getting old” skin, it is really tough to find the best matching products that works for me and keep me looking 30 still.
